Scott
A key member of our team, director Scott Davies has a background in properties and construction. Providing high specification living spaces for our clients to call home is a value that Empower upholds passionately. It is highly important that the environment our clients live in are psychologically informed and conducive to their recovery, the premises will be finished to the same high standard that all S. Davies Properties work is held to.
Scott will be a silent partner when it comes to the care and support aspect of the company but will be heavily involved in the restoration and maintenance of all homes. However, Scott is very popular with both staff and clients alike and he has built great rapport with residents. Scott has an incredible work ethic and is passionate about empowering and inspiring individual’s we support into work, especially within the trade and construction sector and will therefore be utilising his connections and experience to encourage engagement with work-place learning, apprenticeships and qualifications.
Emily
Emily, our Founder, is a qualified mental health nurse.
Emily has worked within the confines of an adult acute in-patient ward, with the crisis resolution and home treatment team and as a community psychiatric nurse with a community mental health team as well as in primary care as a nurse therapist.
Emily brings experience of all aspects of the role of a mental health nurse to the team, with the goal of all services she has worked within being; keeping people well and out of hospital.
Emily has seen the entire recovery journey from crisis point, to admission, to discharge and has a keen eye for spotting relapse signatures, assessment and care planning.
Emily understands the importance of liaising and building good relationships with other services and key people involved in the care of service users.
Emily saw the need for good quality mental health domiciliary care and left her role in the NHS to launch Empower Support
Cath
Cath has been qualified RMN for over 15 years, the majority of which have been spent in the mental health recovery and rehabilitation sector. Cath has ensured the smooth transition of patients transferred from high secure settings through to rehabilitation and has facilitated their care and treatment and aided their recovery to a point that they are able to leave hospital and live in the community, either independently or with support. Cath has extensive experience in working with people with a mental health diagnosis and a history of offending behaviour and is well versed with constructing robust risk assessments and care/treatment plans. Cath has seen many changes within the NHS across her years of service, the move towards the importance of service users living in the community is the biggest, and this is something the NHS are keen to continue in the coming years.
Jessica RMN
Mental Health Nurse and Team Lead.
Jessica is joining us after qualifying as a mental health nurse last year. She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Criminology and went on to complete her Master's in Mental Health Nursing. Throughout her university experience, she worked within various areas such as in supported living for individuals with mental health diagnoses, nursing, and residential homes.
Jessica has experience working in acute inpatient settings, community settings, and Empower itself. She worked as a mental health support worker during the last year of her nursing degree for Empower, and upon qualifying left for a brief period of time before returning to us as Team Lead.
"My favourite part of working in this field, particularly Empower, is being able to engage with clients outside of a clinical setting which opens up a new dimension for building therapeutic relationships. During time where clients access the community with your support, the real recovery and progress begins. I find this the most rewarding aspect of my job".
Fay
Senior Support Worker, Thrive at Home Support in the Community
Fay has worked in social care for over thirty years and has a background in a multitude of different roles from Dementia care to Palliative Care. Fay maintains high standards of care across the team by demonstrating best practices and advocating for those in need of our services. Fay is the initial point of contact for all new starters and they will be guided by her as they integrate into their roles during induction.
Beth
Senior Support Worker, Thrive at Home Support in the Community
Beth is a graduate of Swansea University and joined us from a management role in the retail sector. She deeply understands the need to maintain a clean and healthy environment for all service users. Beth is an integral part of the induction and in-house training process for all new team members as they integrate into their roles. She also takes an active lead in the support planning process to ensure that all clients needs are met.
