Who can get support from Empower Support?

We provide services for vulnerable people within the community, whether you require a high level of support or a lower level, part time service.  The individual must have a mental health diagnosis – including anxiety/depression and more complex presentations. We are also able to manage risk in community if we have the full details upon application. If you're unsure about whether our services would be suitable for you, please fill in our contact form and we will be happy to chat to you.

Do you have exact call times?

Whilst we aim to provide consistent support, we cannot guarantee set call times as there can be unpredictability in our team's working day. We work within call windows to ensure we can prioritise medication calls and to maintain consistency and expectations with our service users.

Do I have to have a social worker or CPN to access support from Empower?

Although a lot of our clients do have social workers or CPNs, you are also able to self refer to receive support from us. You may be eligible to receive "direct payments" from your local authority to fund your support package. If you would like to discuss this with a member of our team, please contact us.

What services can an Empower Support Worker offer?

At the heart of Empower Support is an understanding that every individual deserves to thrive in the community. Our team is here to support them with this and offer a wide range of services and activities, all centred around a emphasis on mental state monitoring. They do not offer personal care services.

How do I apply or refer?

Support from Empower Support is tailored to the individual's needs, ranging from domiciliary care to supported living. Therefore we have a comprehensive application process which you can read more about over on our  referrals page.  Have a look at our services to see what suits you, and if you need any more information, please contact us.

What is your minimum package of care?

We prefer to work in an evidence based way to meet the social and emotional needs of our service users. Therefore a package of care is centred around the initial assessment and ongoing awareness of the individuals needs. A 30 min call is the minimum, MEDS ONLY visiting time and any other needs beyond this become 1 hour call. If you would like to discuss our packages of care and working ethos further please contact us or visit our referrals page.

Do you offer a respite service?

Yes, we recognise the ever-increasing load on carers, both paid and unpaid. To help you carry on the incredible work you do for your loved ones, we are able to offer respite and sit-in services in your own home. This can range from an hour for you to go and do your food shopping, to 24hour or overnight for you to have a well-deserved break. We are passionate about helping carers to look after themselves as well as their loved ones, in order to be able to maintain the level of care they wish to provide. Please feel free to discuss this with us.

Can I self-fund?

Yes, we can accept direct payment for care services including payment from the Local Authority and benefits.  Please feel free to discuss this with us.
