Do I have to have previous experience in care to apply?
No, just be a kind and empathetic person, we have a robust induction process and training framework to support your development and learning. you will be shadowing experience members of staff so will learn how to approach clients and carry out their support plans. All training and qualifications are fully funded.
I have children, do you offer family friendly contracts?
Yes, we support work life balance and parenting and caring roles. The options are to either join the bank to be fully flexible or have a school hours contract or evenings and weekends depending on your availability.
Will there be personal care in the job?
We offer MH support more than traditional hands on physical and personal care. We often prompt clients to meet their own personal care needs and encourage and motivate them to carry out their ADLs. There may be some occasions where we offer 'hands on' support if someone is unwell or with basic tasks e.g. passing items or giving directions when in shower or supporting to put on certain items of clothes.
What type of things will I be doing?
Supporting adults living with a wide variety of mental health diagnoses in their own homes to be as independent as possible. This could look like meeting basic needs such as medication, dietary intake and monitoring their mental state to meeting their social and emotional and psychologocal needs, accessing the community and leading a fulfilling life.

We assist with your CIW registration and should you wish to progress your career with Empower Support we have funded opportunities for QCF 2-5 and internal mentorship.

Yes! We highly value flexible working options which allows you to pick and choose shifts around your lectures, exams and placements. There's no expectation to commit over academic holiday periods either!
What's the pay like?
We are committed to paying our staff above national minimum wage with top ups for unsociable working hours. We pay your travel time at the full hourly rate between calls and contribute towards fuel costs.
